Online Dater Calls Out Straight Edge Person's Dating Profile, Sparks Debate About Sobriety and Relationships

Substance use can be a pretty emotive topic, and this means it is often a dealbreaker for those who are looking for love. Few desire a prospective partner who probably needs to go to Narcotics Anonymous, but by the same token most people don't want to be with someone who is going to judge them for having a couple of drinks to wind down on a Friday night.

It's no wonder that dating apps like Hinge make a point of asking users about their vices. A recent Twitter thread underlined the importance of this, when one online dater questioned those who managed to live completely straight edge.

While many were inclined to agree with the bafflement, others were quick to argue that sobriety should never be a turn off. Everyone has their reasons for what they do and don't do, and it's clear that they can mean a lot in relationships.
